Updated 11-Oct-2017: Click here to learn more about the refund process

Our partner bank is being nudged by VISA to immediately stop issuing cards to residents living outside of the European Territory. As a result, any new sign ups to Shakepay will require to have an address of residence within this list of European countries.

All Shakepay users outside of these countries will have their cards deactivated on October 15th, 2017. This list includes most of us on the Shakepay team unfortunately.

Steps required if your address of residence is in Europe

None, you can continue on as cheerfully as you were earlier this morning.

Steps required if you currently have a Shakepay card and your address of residence is outside the European Territory

All top ups and card loads will remain operational until October 15th, 2017. You will not be able to issue a new card, however. It is also recommended that you spend all available balances on your card by the deadline. For those who prefer their balances refunded in crypto, please reach out to support@shakepay.co.

For those getting their accounts deactivated soon, we still love ya. It’s not you, it’s us. But we won’t let you go that easily. We anticipated this would happen. Expect some awesome things from Shakepay in the next few months.

If you have any questions, please reach out to support@shakepay.co.
